Job Description

Location: Egypt, 100% remote work-from-home position (You must permanently live and have the right to work in Egypt to apply for this position)

Pay Rate: $4.50 USD per hour.

Contract: 6-month contract with an extension highly likely. Self-employed contractor. Responsible for own taxes. No benefits.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week

The Role:

Here at Twinkl we are currently looking for a content writer/editor for our brand new product Arabic Phonics''. We are looking for creative, innovative, cooperative content writers/editors to join our team and collaborate with making Arabic Phonics stand out.

You will be helping to create resources specifically designed for Arabic Phonics products which will be used globally. As a team we are looking to add new creative ideas and engaging resources to Arabic Phonics.

In your role as a writer/editor, you will focus on quality when writing content and help ensure that the content of our resources the writers have written is accurate and well written, helping us to deliver high-quality Arabic Phonics materials to children around the world.

As part of the Arabic Phonics team, you will communicate with the UAE team and other team members and attend weekly meetings to stay updated on the progress of our work.


How you’ll spend your day:

  • Creating resources for Arabic Phonics following the product scheme, reviewing and editing content that our Writers have created to ensure it is accurate, well written, suitable for the target year group and providing the correct level of challenge and support.
  • Meeting, working and communicating with other team members in a scrum team to achieve sprint goals.

In this role, you will learn:

  • Featured and unique scheme in teaching Arabic Phonics around the globe.
  • How to adapt new ideas to fit a new market.
  • How a scrum team works together across different markets and countries.

You’ll work with:

  • Ran Nourallah (Arabic Phonics Product Owner) Ran Nourallah leads the Arabic Phonics team from a product perspective in her role.
  • Other Arabic Phonics team members the team will consist of Content Writers/ Editors, Designers and illustrators. We will work in a combined scrum with the Arabic Phonics and UAE team.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Have an excellent understanding of Arabic phonics schemes and phonics progression in early years.
  • Hold a BA in Education (In Arabic a plus)
  • Have at least 4 years classroom experience teaching Early Years preferably within an EYFS setting.
  • Have an excellent understanding of teaching early reading and writing skills.
  • Have secure knowledge of Phonics programmes and a proven track record of raising phonics attainment.
  • Have fluent and exceptional Arabic language skills.
  • Have excellent spelling, punctuation and grammar skills in Arabic.
  • Be creative, accurate and able to communicate in English.

We’re are especially interested in anyone who also meets one, or a combination of the following:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Education, Degree of 3 + years or a Teaching Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ classroom experience, currently teaching Phonics or classroom teaching within the last 12 months.
  • Experience teaching EYFS UK curriculum.
