The Data Engineer is a unique opportunity to blend very high in-demand skills at one of the rising FinTech stars of the region.
The successful candidates will be accountable for the for the following major responsibilities:
- Optimizing data architecture in collaboration with the technology and product teams. This entails acting as a data consultant and the last line of defense that ensures all operational systems are designed, configured and built in the best way possible to enable all analytics requirements of now and the future, taking both efficiency to security into account
- Designing, building, testing and maintaining the entire analyt1ics infrastructure. This is the more technical hands-on part of the job that includes but is not limited to:
- Developing databases and big data warehouses that blend rich data sources from our own backend and multiple 3rd party services using cloud services (AWS or GCP).
- Ensure the continuity of analytics infrastructure in line with backend updates via automated data pipelines and streaming data.
- Employ benefits of modern data architectures (e.g. data mesh, data lakehouse, etc.)
- Work hand-in-hand with Product Managers, Backend engineers and Frontend engineers to curate well-designed end-to-end data products.
- Analyze structural requirements for new software and application (if applicable)
- Provide support to optimize new and current database systems and analytics solutions.
- Facilitate self-service data infrastructure by building and maintaining a data catalog.
3.Coordinate with the Data Science department:
- To identify future needs and requirements.
- Assist with deployment of rapid data models (when needed) to enable quick turn around times of data product PoCs
- Continuously maintain, improve and upgrade data warehouse.
- Build and maintain feature store for machine learning features (e.g. Feathr) and manage MLOps lifecycle.
4.Creatively procuring new, ingenious sources of data that can assist analytics teams of producing cutting edge insights.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Proven work experience as a Data Scientist, or Data Engineer.
- In-depth understanding of and experience with database principles, data pipelines, and cloud-based data solutions (e.g. AWS, BigQuery, etc.).
- Excellent knowledge of Google Cloud and its products and solutions.
- Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements.
- Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques.
- Expertise in SQL and python
- Ability to analyze information, identify problems and trends, and solve complex problem.
