Job Description

Lean is recruiting for a Head of Compliance to join our scaling team in Riyadh after recently becoming the first and only Technical Service Provider approved by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) to operate under its Regulatory Sandbox.
We are at the initial stages of growth in Saudi Arabia, and this is a unique opportunity for someone to develop their knowledge of the commercial risks affecting our business who are driving Saudi's nascent Open Banking sector towards maturity.
About the job
Since our founding 3 years ago, our company has grown exponentially both in terms of our product traction and headcount. As such, we are looking to hire an experienced Head of Compliance to maintain the high standards we have achieved to date as we scale. The successful candidate will be based in the Riyadh office and will report directly to the CTO, and regularly to the CEO.
Our risk amp; compliance department enables our business operations and ensures we comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Our compliance program includes our ISO 27001 Certification and Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) regulatory requirements.
You will be involved in the running and growth of these frameworks and associated processes. You will take a pragmatic approach to risk and security and help ensure our compliance strategy remains appropriate for the business.

Lean Technologies provides access to a universal API that unlocks critical financial infrastructure for fintechs across the MENA region. The Lean API provides developers with easy access to build the next generation of cutting-edge financial solutions.
With the Lean API, fintechs can seamlessly connect to their customers’ bank accounts to initiate payments and retrieve account information, such as balance and transaction history all while providing the customer with control over their data and money.
Lean is at the forefront of the Open Banking initiative within Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. We aim to create a supportive and collaborative ecosystem of fintechs to support the growth of the industry within the region and ultimately give end-users useful products and seamless experiences.Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain our ISMS framework. ISO 27001:2013 certification.
  • Maintaining and updating ISMS documentation and processes based on new legislation, risk assessment and audit findings
  • Manage and maintain the group’s compliance management plan
  • Take ownership of enhancing our compliance program
  • Plan and conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments
  • Respond to third party security documentation requests, including contract reviews
  • Conduct due diligence on our customers (KYC, AML/CTF)
  • Develop and deliver internal training (Security amp; AML/CTF)
  • Be the point of contact between the Company and the Regulators
  • Act as our regional MLRO and when required DPO.

Requirements
  • Extensive regulatory experience in compliance roles within Saudi Arabia
  • Fintech experience is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to engage with customers and senior management
  • Experience and understanding of information security
  • Experience of working with regulators
  • Proven experience with Data Protection requirements
  • Experience performing BIA / Risk Assessments and DPIAs
  • Strong English communication and documentation writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills at senior level
