Back-End Staff Engineerfor one of our partners, an e-commerce company.
Job Summary:Our partner is looking for a detail-oriented staff software engineer to collaborate on designing and developing existing and new software services. The perfect candidate will be overseeing as part of an architectural council the structural design process, estimating costs, and ensuring software quality throughout the stages of design and implementation and deployment.
To ensure success as a staff engineer, you should demonstrate deep engineering knowledge and experience in your topic.Responsibilities:
- Evaluating existing services and processes to identify areas that need optimization and enhancement.
- Assessing the efficiency of technologies, tools and practices used in the team.
- Building, setting up, and improving coding and documentation standards drive the team to follow best practices when writing and reviewing backend or frontend code.
- Integrate components into a fully functional and efficient system.
- Able to take individual ownership of a project from start to finish.
- Ability to define SLIs and SLOs for a highly reliable, efficient software service.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field of specialization preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in a large scale tech organization. (e-commerce experience is a plus)
- Extensive backend programming experience with NodeJS and Java.
- Experience with writing Restful API backends.
- Knowledge in devops practices and AWS infrastructure
- Experience with queuing systems like kafka and SQS.
- Ability to write well thought and highly structured RFCs.
- Experience migrating projects from monolith to microservices is a huge plus
- Mobile Experience is a huge plus.
- ERP systems experience is a huge plus.
