500 Startups began investing in the MENA region in 2012. Since that time we’ve made over 180 investments through our 500 Falcons fund and seed accelerator program, establishing the pre imminent early stage fund in the MENA region. In 2021, we’re launching the next phase of 500 Startups in MENA, launching a regional headquarters in Riyadh, continuing our prestigious seed accelerator and educational programs ans continuing to invest across stages in the very best founders in the region. We’re looking for best-in-class investment professionals to join our upcoming investment and operations team and create lasting impact for MENA founders. Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage your network and outbound outreach to source high-potential early stage investment opportunities in MENA
- Develop investment and impact theses, a point of view and investment rationale, measuring results and driving learning.
- Evaluate potential investments in early stage companies through founder and financial due diligence, market research, and competitive analysis
- Assist in the execution of venture investments by sourcing new investments, executing diligence by building investment models and playing an active role in internal discussions related to investment decisions, and supporting portfolio companies.
- Be an ambassador for the 500 brand fostering relationships in the broader entrepreneurial and venture community
This role is accepting candidates based in KSA, UAE, Bahrain, Jordan or Egypt.
Requirements
- Desire to work within a values-centric, founder-first venture capital firm
- 24 years of relevant experience, including but not limited to: technology / startups, venture capital, investment banking, management consulting, private equity
- Collaborative; team and outcome oriented
- Ability to thrive in a FAST, unstructured environment with incomplete data
- Familiarity and passion for core technologies and consumer behavior
- Fluency with data manipulation, financial models, cap tables and presentations
- Must be a self-starter, solutions oriented, comfortable working with minimal oversight and taking on new tasks on-demand/as needed
- Desire to work with a global team.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (Up to 25%)
