Environmental Researcher & Project Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Research on sustainability, built environment, innovation in tech and engineering.
• Support the coordination of collaborative projects under leadership of the Director. 
• Work along e.construct Project Manager to develop an editorial strategy and maintain a workplan for visual production.
• Conduct exploratory research and develop into high-quality briefs as a basis for designers to create visual prototypes.
• Coordinate internally with the production team to facilitate reviews and feedback on visual projects.
• Communicate externally to partner organizations to collaborate and solicit feedback and coordinate services.
• Review and fact-check final e.construct visual outputs including interactives, presentations and web outputs.
• Build and document e.construct creative culture through documentation of iterations and process mapping.
• Support outreach with universities and talent.
• Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information
• Schedule meetings and ensure all participants are available.
• Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants

Requirements

• Work experience in analytical research 2-5+ years
•  A degree in either research, sustainability, engineering, humanities, or similar
• Strong research and writing skills
• Ability to self-manage and maintain a prioritization system for short and long-term projects and day-to-day tasks;
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a sensitivity for competing deadlines;
• Strong communications abilities, verbal and written;
• Ability to think laterally, identifying compelling visual storytelling analogies and unexpected data sources;
• Independent - capable of following direction but does not require constant supervision;
• Willing to refine tasks repeatedly based on team feedback until goals have been met;
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Desired

• Familiarity with data and elementary data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, RAW);
• To be passionate about sustainability;
• Visual communication skills;
• Experience with spreadsheets;
• Arabic proficiency (additional languages a plus);
• Prior research and project coordination experience;
• Leadership positions in student activities;
