AWS Cloud Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Cloud Architect to provide technical leadership and direction in implementing enterprise information/data management practices. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading and engaging in information/data management projects, with expertise in areas such as Enterprise Information Architecture, data modeling, data standards, and data quality processes. This role requires a deep understanding of AWS cloud services and architecture, as well as proficiency in developing scalable designs for complex, large-scale data environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and maintenance of the logical Enterprise Information Architecture.
• Ensure seamless information interoperability of systems, encompassing transaction systems, document management systems, and information delivery systems.
• Align information architectures with information lifecycle management best practices.
• Perform conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling using data modeling tools.
• Design databases in complex, large-scale data environments.
• Implement transactional data modeling, dimensional modeling, and object-oriented modeling.
• Develop scalable designs of entities using advanced data structures, such as tall tables.
• Develop data models supporting time dependency, historical tracings, taxonomies (simple and complex), and multilingual data.
• Utilize application modeling languages/techniques (e.g., UML, OML, entity relationship modeling, DFDs) to create and interpret associated diagrams.
• Create and manage data dictionaries.
• Define metadata management approaches and governance processes.
• Develop and implement IT architecture plans and Enterprise Information Architecture standards and guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent with 8-10 years of experience.
• Or Master's with 6-8 years of experience.
• Substantial hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including designing and implementing solutions using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, etc.
• Proven experience in a similar role with a focus on AWS cloud services and architecture.
• Strong background in information/data management and architecture.
• Proficiency in data modeling tools and techniques.
• Excellent knowledge of transaction and information systems, data warehouses, data marts, ODS, MDM methodologies, ETL, and MDM technologies.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Proven experience in developing and maintaining enterprise information architecture, with a focus on scalable and secure designs for complex, large-scale data environments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate architectural decisions, and interact with stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Experience:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
• Experience in developing and implementing IT architecture plans, standards, and guidelines.
• Knowledge and experience in architecting scalable service-oriented solutions.
