Description

The purpose of our Group Financial Accountant is to help keep our finances meticulously correct and powerfully informative. The Group and Egypt accountant will have both an immediate and lasting impact on all company operations, helping us to strategies savings, perform impactful audits, furnish leadership with crucial information, and (ultimately) grow our financial position. We are committed to serving both customers and employees in the best way possible, and it starts with keeping our finances accurately reported, meticulously organized, and vitally strategic.


Responsibilities:

Ensure the integrity of accounting information and reconcile any financial discrepancies by performing or directing the research of accounting issues for compliance and establish quality over transactions and reporting.

· Handle Intercompany reporting, ensuring that intercompany transactions are posted timely and accurately. Reconcile and maintain the Intercompany general ledger, identifying and thoroughly investigating any discrepancies and taking the proper corrective actions to resolve them.

· Conduct month-end, quarter-end, and close year-end processes to verify all entries have been created and posted, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and cohesiveness of information.

· Preparation of the group consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS, and preparation of other ad hoc group reports.

· Responsible for the timely completion of the group and local statutory audits, act as the first POC with the group auditors and provide support to the local teams in delivering their local statutory audits.

· Responsible for the accounting of the group’s capitalized development costs in line with IFRS. Challenging the development costs proposed by the business, ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained and asset register reconciled.

· Maintain all necessary reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, revenue forecasts, budgets, and cash-flow statements.

· Support on other ad hoc requests as required.

· Comply with group financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance, and advising management on needed actions.

· Periodically improve and document all accounting control procedures, identifying system issues and making suggestions for improvement.

· Drive the implementation of standardization of accounting and processes across the group.

· Part-time support for the local accounting in Egypt.

Requirements


The ideal candidate must be analytical with high attention to detail, have exceptionally high ownership, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to work with agility in a fast-paced environment. They would also be insanely focused on demonstrating excellence in service delivery; other qualifications include:

· Bachelors in accounting and finance or related field

· Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent)

· At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience

· Thorough knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures

· Experience in audit and international accounting (preferred big 4 experience)

· Strong knowledge of consolidation and intercompany

· Working knowledge of accounting software platforms

· Natural proficiency with or passion for mathematics

· Personal integrity: ability to keep customer and company confidence
