e.construct designs structures such as bridges, high-rise design, commercial facilities design, precast concrete engineering, and post-tensioning design. We are a multi-disciplinary engineering design firm with specialized design and value engineering services. The firm's core work is holistic at its approach, and it has divisions in structural, MEP, Geotechnical, and emerging construction technology such as 3D printing of concrete, technology, and 3D laser scanning.
Role Summary
As a Lead Structural Engineer, you will lead a team of Modelers, Drafters, Juniors, and Senior Engineers. The candidate should have extensive experience in the industry and ideally have had some experience with research institutions or academia. The candidate should be able to bridge between experimental and novel systems/research and traditional industry needs. This requires both a solid understanding of structural fundamentals and experience with complex projects including high-rise design to be able to fill this role. Diverse experience with various structural systems such as precast, post-tension, and structural steel is a plus. Extensive coordination skills along with proper people management and project scheduling are required.Responsibilities

- Lead the structural design of projects from concept through completion.
- Develop detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications for structural components.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Maintain accurate records of all project documents
- Participate in client meetings to discuss project progress and address any issues that arise.
- Oversee the project’s concept design and initial specifications and manage to schedule the project plan.
- Provide sound technical expertise when applying engineering principles, techniques, and methods to the design of projects.
- Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including time and scope involved.
- Lead a team to conduct engineering studies and investigations and prepare reports for company leadership.
- Provide engineering guidance to other departments, help to train new engineers, and keep abreast of industry trends and issues.
- Develop new systems and maintain and modify existing systems when required.
- Prepare user requirements, technical specifications, and design specifications.
- Use the BIM tools software for a high level of spot-checking and coordination.
- Analyze project requirements and accordingly provide technical and functional recommendations.
- Schedule engineering meetings to discuss new ideas, issues, and project status.
- Evaluate existing engineering processes and recommend improvements.
- Set goals and implement them.
- Prepare cost estimates.
- Share expertise and insight with other engineers.
- Motivate staff and foster collaboration.
- Present the company in front of the client.
- Degree (Master’s preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
- 15+ years of experience.
- Strong technical skills.
- Working knowledge of current industry software, such as SAP, ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, RAM, Revit, AutoCAD, and other software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior experience in managing and guiding engineers to efficiently produce calculations and sketches.
- Experience developing schematics for structures in accordance with client specifications and safety standards.
- Project development and leadership skills are essential.
- Professional work experience in developing blueprints and designs for proposed structures.
- Extensive knowledge and experience working with various operating systems.
- Advanced understanding of build materials, techniques, and processes.
- Up-to-date understanding of best practices regarding building safety measures.
- Ability to work with various departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan.
- Ability to direct multiple projects at a time.
- Ability to think outside the box to provide creative solutions.
