About the Job
We are seeking a talented and motivated Legal Intern to join our Open Banking In-house Legal Team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced legal professionals and gain valuable insight into the dynamic field of open banking. You will play a vital role in supporting the team's efforts to ensure legal compliance, assess regulatory risks, and facilitate business growth in the rapidly evolving open banking landscape.

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on open banking regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and policies related to open banking operations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as business units and compliance teams, to provide legal advice and guidance on open banking initiatives.
  • Support the team in monitoring and assessing changes in relevant legislation, regulations, and industry trends impacting open banking.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and training materials on open banking legal matters.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal knowledge resources, including legal templates and databases.
  • Assist in managing legal documentation, correspondence, and record-keeping related to open banking activities.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with internal and external stakeholders to address legal and regulatory matters.
  • Assist in coordinating and managing legal projects and initiatives within the open banking legal team.
  • Stay up-to-date with legal developments in open banking and related fields to ensure the team remains informed and compliant.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a law degree program or equivalent legal studies or recently graduated from legal studies.
  • Curiosity to learn more about payments, banking and financial regulatory frameworks, and to gain experience working in a fast-paced fintech scale-up
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex information into business friendly language.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with open banking concepts, principles, and related legal considerations is desirable.
  • Strong written and spoken Arabic skills are an advantage.
